US Secret Service and the NJ Shield offer online or in person Behavorial Threat Assessment
The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce continues to partner with the NJ Office of Homeland Security & Preparedness to bring top training to our business and community leaders. The upcoming seminar BEHAVIORAL THREAT ASSESSMENT: PREVENTING TARGETED VIOLENCE IN THE COMMUNITY Workplace Violence Prevention will take place April 8 from 9am to 1pm in person at Hamilton Auditorium, Hamilton Township or online as a webinar. There is no cost to attend this event. For over 20 years, the U.S. Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC) has conducted research on the thinking and behaviors of those who commit acts of targeted violence and produced guidance and recommendations to prevent future tragedies.
The U.S. Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC), Newark Field Office, and New Jersey Shield are hosting a seminar featuring NTAC’s latest efforts to develop best practices for implementing behavioral threat assessment programs. It will highlight research findings and implications of targeted violence in our communities, as well as guidance to proactively identify and intervene with those who display threatening or concerning behaviors as early as possible. This event is intended for law enforcement, first responders, analysts, educators, mental health specialists, health care professionals, public safety and security, government partners, workplace managers, business continuity, and community leaders.
