Taking Revolutionary Steps to Benefit Your Non Profit – resources and programming for all groups to get impact from the USA 250th
Fall is the right time to learn how plans have been underway, and how organizations and nonprofits to discuss how their groups may benefit from increase in tourism, events, fundraising and programming that will take place across the 13 colonies. For New Jersey, talking Semi-Quincentennial is all about opportunities. Kicking off an initial discussion and brainstorming event, on how all nonprofits and institutions can begin planning so this anniversary year can have an impact. The Southern Ocean Chamber will be hosted at the Stockton Manahawkin Campus for their annual Fall Non Profit Forum “Taking Revolutionary Steps to Benefit Your Non Profit” on Friday October 25 beginning at 10am presented by Ocean County Cultural & Heritage with RevNJ.
Southern Ocean Chamber Association (SOCA), the charitable affiliate of the 110-year Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance that the region has played in establishing our country and is a proud partner of RevolutionNJ, the official organization tasked with commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. This partnership offers an opportunity to delve into the state’s rich and complex history, exploring the local stories and significant sites that helped shape the nation. Preparations have been underway to help RevolutionNJ establish New Jersey as a must-see historical destination, and to gain long-deserved recognition for its role as the Crossroads of the American Revolution. Southern Ocean County has multiple sites that include Defense at Egg Harbor in 1778, Manahawkin Skirmish 1781, Long Beach Island Massacre of 1782, and the Affair at Cedar Bridge in 1782. The forum will discuss how collaboration, creativity, and sharing local experience can create dynamic programming that can benefit non profits both in and outside of historic organizations.
The event is scheduled to be held at Stockton Manahawkin Campus 712 East Bay Avenue. The Non-Profit Forum has been gathering and educating local nonprofits for almost two decades and is presented by Southern Ocean Chamber Association, Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, Stockton University Manahawkin Campus & The Ocean County Culture & Heritage Commission. As always, Ocean County Culture & Heritage Commission will offer credit for recipients of the county art or history grants to be applied towards grant compliance.
