Giants Photography LLC in Beach Haven, NJ offers photography services, specializing in pet photography, brides with their dogs, small weddings and events, portraits and scenes around the Jersey Shore. Two Giants also provides personalized photography classes for middle and high school students. Owner Pat Trotter started the company in Kentucky several years ago as a freelance business while she was still employed by the Kentucky Department of Education.
“When it became clear to me that my mother could no longer live alone I decided to pack up and move to our LBI home year round,” Trotter shared. After studying studio photography and location lighting at Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, Rocky Mountain School of Photography and Maine Media, she decided to open a studio in Beach Haven. “I have always loved photography and studied it in graduate school many years ago at the Newhouse School of Communication. I love being behind the camera and seeking ways to improve my skills,” said Trotter.
Trotter enjoys working and photographing pets and people, but also have a soft spot for photographing places on LBI and at the Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge. “The studio is named after my dogs – Two Giants. I have two Giant Schnauzers who often serve as my “models” for experimenting with lighting in the studio! You’re also likely to see the puppy in the studio!” she added.
Trotter’s business has two specialties: pet photography and a service entitled “A Day in the Life.” The photographer has owned, shown and competed with dogs for many years and has a natural affinity for working with them. “In order to get a good photograph of a pet you must understand canine behavior and have a lot of patience! “My ‘Day in the Life’ package is an extension of the traditional family portrait,” Trotter continued. People hire her to be their personal photographer for three or more hours and she covers them as if they were celebrities. “Taking pictures on the beach with your cell phone is nice but it can’t compare to having a professional photographer capture your memories,” Trotter commented.
For Labor Day weekend Two Giants will be running specials for what she calls the 15-Minute Pet Portrait. Additionally, she will also be offering discounts for “A Day in the Life” if booked that weekend.
