Participate in Chowderfest 2020

Due to restrictions currently in place, the 2020 Chowderfest will bring chowder tasters directly to the source by supporting local restaurants and retailers. As the organizers of the 32 year event, we recognize that this is an opportunity to keep the community safe and keep this popular event on the 2020 calendar. The ChowdeRestaurant & Merchant Month will have many features, including a Chowderfest playlist for in home or on route listening, Chowderwear e-store, restaurants serving up dine and take home options, an online voting component, Virtual Chowder Run & Bike Challenge, social media and pop up surprises.

By allowing a full month to share the spirit of the event, it allows customers to enjoy multiple restaurants at their own pace, avoiding overcrowding of restricted space , shopping merchants in store and online as well as submitting their vote for an overall chowder champion. ChowderMonth will begin September 5 for tasters to begin visiting restaurants to purchase Chowder cups, pints and quarts, so they can even create a “Chowderfest at Your House” event with online voting beginning Labor Day Weekend.

Each voter can register for free and will receive the Chowderfest Virtual Information Packet. The event will be supported by interactive content as well as the announcement for the Chowderfest 2020 Overall Champion happening October 4. From Photo Op stops, digital mapping and Secret Sale Merchant Listing housed online at Chowderfest.com , there will no cost for consumers to get the information needed to vote or tour the participating members.

Sponsors joining Southern Ocean County Chamber to soup up the local economy by presenting this clamtastic event are: The Sandpaper/Beachcomber, AtlantiCare, G. Anderson Agency, Anderson Insurance Agency, Atlantic States Group, Bud Light, Ritchie & Page, New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism, Beasley Media Group, and Sysco.

Of course, we look forward to next year and invite everyone to Save the Date for Chowderfest Weekend happening Oct 2 and 3 2021 when traditional festivities will be back.
