Businesses Win Big with Shop Small Kick-off November 17

The Southern Ocean County Chamber members usher in the 2021 Holiday Shopping Season to the LBI Region with their November 17 breakfast meeting at The Mainland, Rt 72 in Manahawkin, with registration beginning 8am. The launch of the Shop Small, Win Big Shopping Pass, sponsored by Manasquan Bank, will add to the excitement of Shop Small Saturday and Holidays Redefined promotions.  Participating member offers will be incorporated with the latest technology to help retail, restaurants, and services promote hours of operation, special events, and offers that will take place November 27 – December 17. With this user friendly, mobile responsive experience, shoppers can check in to the stops to be entered for $500 Shopping Spree provided by Manasquan Bank and additional prize packages.

Featured keynote will be Melanie Willoughby, Executive Director of the New Jersey Business Action Center was named one of New Jersey’s most influential economic development leaders in 2021.  Prior to joining NJBIA, she served as the president and CEO of the New Jersey Retail Merchants Association, a statewide retail business organization representing over 3,500 stores. She will be addressing businesses on how to prepare for the implementation of a new law that will take effect in 2022 ending  the use of single-use plastic carryout bags and polystyrene foam food service products at retail stores and food service businesses. The presentation will include explanation of the law, a discussion of frequently asked questions, an easy-to-read chart explaining what businesses are affected and how to comply, and will showcase many other resources that are available to support businesses at Business.NJ.gov

This holiday event features networking, breakfast, program and materials. The cost is $30 with advance registration requested. The meeting is presented in part by Atlantic City Electric.
