March 24 Workforce Development Webinar on Broadening Hiring Practices

Businesses welcome to jump on for free March 24 webinar to Grow your Talent pool with NJ Department of Labor & Workforce Development, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services

 joining the Division of Vocational Rehab, Department of Labor in providing more insight into programs designed to expand workforce and talent. The upcoming webinar Access for All – How to Broaden Your Hiring Practices and Grow Your Talent Pool will take place online on March 24 beginning at 10am. It will feature Cheryl Casciano, MA Business Outreach Consultant for Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services and Kathy Space, Manager of the Ocean County DVR office. The program has been arranged due to the many requests from attendees of the State of the Chamber presentation held this past January. There is no fee to attend the webinar, but registration is required to receive the zoom link.

The goal of the event is to introduce local employers on how to work one-on-one with a Business Services Representative to discuss their immediate and future hiring needs. The program will discuss the specialized services available to those who want to hire returning veterans and/or individuals with a disability.

The webinar will cover many out of the box aspects to hiring, including On-the-Job Training, which is a subsidized opportunity designed to assist eligible New Jersey jobseekers obtain training that leads to employment. This training has a proven track record of meeting the needs of both jobseeker and employer.

It will be led by Cheryl Casciano , who received her B.A. in Media Communications from Rutgers
University, her M.A. in Rehabilitation Counseling from Gallaudet University and was credentialed as a
Certified Public Manager in 2015. Along with Ocean County, she covers four other counties in southern
New Jersey as a Business Outreach Consultant for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation
