Make It Matter, A Message From Our CEO

Happy 2017! As our chamber celebrates 103 years of bringing businesses together, we are changing things up. The 2020 vision we started work on in 2013, is now a strategy that is set in motion. You will see a lot of differences, like our complicated dues structure that has been streamlined to fit the need of every stakeholder in our community, additions to our incredible partnerships with chambers, colleges, regional organizations and statewide groups that are contributing to a calendar of educational, promotional and networking opportunities geared toward your success as well as the region in whole. Our 2017 business events have been planned in advance so you and your staff can add them to your calendar now.

To fit our new century format, there will be an emphasis on programs, which will be rolling out this year. Our Women in Business Monthly Roundtables, Family Business Institute and legacy sharing, Southern Ocean Open for Business classes and networking, as well as our Destination Marketing Organization’s Made In Southern Ocean Product Certification, enhanced Beach Culture Redefined campaign and the launch of the Land and Sea Guide.

For all the talk about change, we value the traditions that make us who we are. Adding to the long line of business people who have served on our board, please join me in welcoming our slate of new officers: President Jillian Panzone Elsasser, Panzone’s Pizza, Surf City; First Vice-President Skye Gibson, CFP®; Second Vice-President Jeremy DeFilippis, Jetty Life, Manahawkin; Treasurer Malcolm C. Burton AIA, Manahawkin. We’ll continue presenting member favorite activities like our Innovate & Caffeinate morning meetings, LBI Region Report Radio show serving as the voice of local business on WBNJ 91.9FM, Non Profit Forums, Ninth Annual Wedding Road Show, Chowderfest Weekend and our strong digital and social platforms with a following of over 30,000 people. So please connect with us!

We are all about answering questions, so please contact any of us on the chamber staff, or our board members and we will assist in anyway.

Thank you for being a part of our 2017!

Lori Pepenella
