Join Us for Tourism Week Events

We have scheduled activities throughout the first week of May to bring new ideas, networking and discussion on the future of travel and tourism to our region! It is also Small Business Week!

Did you know National Travel & Tourism Week happening May 1-7? The first week each May spotlights the industry’s role in fostering vibrant communities, driving innovation, facilitating recovery and powering the US economy through local travel.

With the support of New Jersey Tourism Industry Association and US Travel Association, the tourism industry overcame its most devastating crisis and showed the importance of travel.

With tourism essential to local businesses and non profit organizations, the region’s chamber has planned and is supporting several events taking place. Start the week with a Business After Hours with the New Jersey Picture & Television Commission at Stafford Heritage Park on Tuesday,  May 3 from 5pm to 7pm. This networking event will feature light refreshments along with an opportunity to  meet with the state commission’s Marketing Director and Production Coordinator on how to successful showcase your business location or property to film makers and learn about the state incentives recently made available. Businesses and officials are invited to RSVP to our office.

On Wednesday, May 4 the Spring Non Profit is set with a much requested program ” Re-Engaging Volunteers of Every Generation” beginning at 10am at the Stockton University Manahawkin Campus.  Pre registration is required, there is no cost to attend.

Our Grow with Google Partner Series is back in person with Boost Your Business Growth Through Brand Building at the Southern Ocean Chamber Second Floor Commerce Center. This will be streaming live on May 5 from noon to 1pm. Registered members get free access to our viewing party as well as Google Swag bags. Limited seating so RSVP to chamber office. Those who cannot attend can register for the virtual version.

The Southern Ocean Chamber will also be attending NJTIA  Advocacy Day on May 5 , which will take place at the Historic Trenton Masonic Temple from 9 to 11am to promote statewide tourism policies and priorities. To register for that event, please go directly to www.njtia.org
