Our Non Profit Forum will present a Non Profit Volunteer Symposium on November 26 at 10 AM in Manahawkin Campus of Stockton University. For almost a decade, the regional chamber has been providing free non profit forums several times a year which bring together volunteer and staffed nonprofits to share ideas, calendars, and have generated collaborations that still continue. This fall, there will be a highlighted focus on understanding and sustaining much needed volunteers to advance the mission of our local groups. In partnership with Ocean County Culture & Heritage, AARP, and Stockton University this symposium will feature keynote speakers, presentation, networking and refreshments.
Christine Newman, Director of Community Outreach and Volunteer Engagement of AARP NJ Engaging the 50+ Volunteer with Promising Practices for Sustainability. The presentation will focus on the best practices in terms of volunteer engagement, onboarding, and recruiting that apply at any age. Participants will explore what people are looking for out of a volunteer experience. Stockton University’s Director of Service Learning Dr Daniel Tome and Senor Coordinator of Service Learning Mrs. Erin O’Halon-Keys will share how to reach out to students for a variety of services and skills.
