Long Beach Island, New Jersey January 18, 2020- Get set, movie lovers, for an award-winning weekend—an Academy Awards weekend, that is—February 7th & 8th on Long Beach Island.
As lead up to this year’s February 9th Oscar® ceremonies, the Lighthouse International Film Festival, in partnership with the LBI Foundation of the Arts and Sciences (LBIF), presents a 2020 Oscar®-nominated Short Film Series Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7th-8th, at the LBIF location in Loveladies. Check out the films and dinner on LBI .
The exclusive Feb 7th & 8th screenings give local film lovers an opportunity to view the year’s most anticipated shorts in the DOCUMENTARY, ANIMATED, and LIVE ACTION categories. Those attending Feb 7th & 8th have an opportunity to compare their reactions to those of some of the industry’s toughest film critics.
While these are some of the more popular films as nominated by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science members, they’re typically among the most difficult films to see. Short films are the fastest-growing genre of film, telling authentic, diverse and groundbreaking stories that often leave audiences hungry for more. This year’s nominees are some of the year’s best film making and are seen by many as among the best shorts ever.
Watch all three categories with our inclusive ALL SHORTS PASS or purchase tickets for each category block. We encourage patrons to purchase in advance, but any remaining tickets will be available at the door.
