Empowering Students: Chamber Awards Funds to 6 Students from 3 Local High Schools
For decades, the Southern Ocean Chamber has been a partner in supporting area high school students. Through community service, internships, and leadership opportunities, the chamber actively engages in many ways. As a representative of the local business community, the organization has established a long-standing tradition of awarding scholarships to deserving students from Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, Barnegat High School, and Pinelands Regional High School in Little Egg Harbor. These scholarships have provided financial assistance to hundreds of students, as well as contributed to the overall growth and development of the community.
The 2024 Southern Ocean Chamber Association Scholarships of $1000 per student were awarded to Southern Regional students Angelo Addiego and Emma Gail Zettlemoyer, Pinelands Regional Students Nicole Cressman and Katelyn McDonald as well as two Barnegat High School seniors.
The Southern Ocean Chamber Association, the 501c3 affiliate of the chamber, administers the scholarship program. By doing so, it honors the 110-year legacy of the organization and recognizes the dedication of the business leaders who shaped the region. For over thirty years, money was raised directly from the chamber’s Chowderfest. Despite the absence of the popular fundraising event this year, the Board of Directors have prioritized the program and their commitment to scholarships remains unwavering.
The Southern Ocean Chamber Congratulates the Class of 2024 and wishes every graduate great success in their future accomplishments.
