Six Students from our three area high schools received awards this Spring
For decades, the Southern Ocean Chamber has been a partner in supporting area high school students. Through community service, internships, and leadership opportunities, the chamber actively engages in many ways. As a representative of the local business community, the organization has established a long-standing tradition of awarding scholarships to deserving students from Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, Barnegat High School, and Pinelands Regional High School in Little Egg Harbor. These scholarships have provided financial assistance to hundreds of students, as well as contributed to the overall growth and development of the community.
The 2025 Southern Ocean Chamber Association Scholarships of $1000 per student were awarded to Southern Regional students, Pinelands Regional Students as well as Barnegat High School. This year’s awardees of the Southern Ocean Chamber Association Scholarship were:
Southern Regional High School: Shane Noah Holden and Madeline Strada
Barnegat High School: Sydney Collins and Joseph Cannizzaro
Pinelands Regional: Alexis Broderson and Annamaria Manger
The Southern Ocean Chamber Association, the 501c3 affiliate of the chamber, administers the scholarship program. By doing so, it honors the 111-year legacy of the organization and recognizes the dedication of the business leaders who shaped the region. The Board of Directors have prioritized the program and their commitment to scholarships remains unwavering. This year’s scholarships were presented by Second Vice President Carol Holme at Southern Regional and Barnegat, and Kate Krier, Business Development Coordinator at Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce presented for Pinelands Regional. The criteria for The Southern Ocean Chamber Association scholarships are to individuals who will graduate in the current school year and have demonstrated exceptional performance throughout their high school studies, as well as outstanding contributions to community service.
The Southern Ocean Chamber Congratulates the Class of 2025 and wishes every graduate great success in their future accomplishments.
