Columbus Day Weekend Packed with Fall events

Our chamber is celebrating our 108th fall season in the Long Beach Island Region of the Jersey coast. The charm that the Pines and the salt air casts a magic spell over events taking place in the fall. Some long standing traditions, and some new ones have been added to the calendar. Also mark the rescheduled date for Chowderfest happening Oct 15!

Daddy O Wine Club is back! Join Fearless Restaurants Wine Director, Michele Gargiulo as we Fly to France! The 50th Annual LBI Commemorative 18 Mile Run has added a 12k run. Taking place on Sunday, October 9 with race starting at 1030am in Holgate. Registration is handled through St Francis Community Center.

The Mainland Holiday Inn in Manahawkin hosts corn mazes, go carts, seasonal food specials, live music, fire pits and more each week, no reservations needed for families to enjoy the activities. 8th annual LBI FLY Kite festival has kite displays in various locations in Ship Bottom with individual events throughout the island from October 7 to 9th!

LBT Shellabration happening at Bayview Park October 8 from noon to 6pm featuring local oyster farmers, beer, games and environmental education to support the local Oyster Industry.

The longest running Surf Fishing Tournament in the state kicks off October 8, as the 68th LBI fishing Classic brings together local bait and tackle shops, fishing enthusiasts and first time competitors looking to catch Striped Bass, Blues and Kingfish. Tournament runs through Dec 11. This fishing tradition comes loaded with prizes and bragging rights.

Stafford Township’s annual Fall Harvest Festival Saturday Oct 8 and Sunday Oct 9 will be filled with activities at Manahawkin Lake Park running noon to 5pm with live music on both days. Saturday brings hayrides, craft and food vendors, Halloween Parade, scarecrow making, pumpkin picking and, for a tasting fee, Wine Festival at Heritage Park.

Fantasy Island kicks off their Halloween Fun Fest with limited advance reservations starting Sunday October 9 from noon to 4pm with Trick or Treat trail, pumpkin patch, DJ Monster Mash and more. Registration $15 per person for all guests comes with $10 game card and costume contests. Other dates include Oct 14, 16 and 21.

Surflight Theatre will be presenting Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express October 6-9 with select matinee and evening performances, contact box office directly to purchase tickets.

Visit Reynolds Garden Shop & Floral Market on East Bay Avenue, Manahawkin on Saturday, October 9 from 11am-3pm for their Harvest Festival. Enjoy a day of activities geared around family fun with an “all-you-can-carry” pumpkin sale ($25 adults, $15 children), a pie-eating contest (2 p.m.), free apple cider donut with purchase at the café, pumpkin painting, scavenger hunt, family photo ops, temporary tattoos, games, prizes, treats, and guaranteed fun!

ManaFirkin Brewing will be hosting a record fair on Sunday, October 9 beginning at 12pm.

The Tuckerton Seaport invites you to join them for one hour boat tours of Tuckerton Creek! Led by a Seaport Captain and Tour Guide, this 50 minute, fully narrated tour will allow your family to explore the coastal culture of New Jersey. Click here for tickets.

The 28th Annual Pine Barrens Jamboree happening Oct 8 at Wells Mills Park in Waretown from 10am to 430pm featuring music of the Pines, demos, food and vendors.

Sunday Oct 8 The Union Market & Gallery at Tuckerton Seaport is hosting soup Can Magazine Art Show with displays and live performances. Free entry $5 minimum food/drink purchase. BYOB 6-9PM

SAVE THE DATE FOR CHOWDERFEST happening at the Taylor Avenue Waterfront- Saturday Oct 15 ! As with all local organizers, this scenario has become a common occurrence, as storm events and flooding is now very much a part of our coastal community. We appreciate your support as we move forward. Plans are underway to coordinate this event to mark the 10th anniversary of Super Storm Sandy as well as to raise attention to coastal resiliency and award Chowder trail Champions.
