Chowderfest Contestant Closeup will take a look at 2018’s contestants, chef’s and recipes. Chowderfest will take place on September 29th & 30th, 2018.

La Bamba is an authentic Mexican restaurant  located in Beach Haven with a focus on fresh food and friendly service. Back again for their third year, the eatery will be competing in the creative category with their “Mexican Tabasco Chowder.” La Bamba has been making a splash at Chowderfest since 2016 when they won the “Rookie of the Year” award, and then again last year when they competed with two different chowders!

This year, according to Head Chef and Owner Valentin Madrid, they will utilizing “hominy corn and tabasco sauce,” in their chowder to make their dish stand out. La Bamba has become an LBI stapl for mexican food and has even been voted the #1 mexican restaurant on Tripadvisor on the island. Their menu is extensive and all dishes are served with traditional sides and soft corn tortillas.
