Follow the full moon to the legendary Long Beach Island Region of the Jersey Shore where haunted happenings will make your October complete
Plan a memorable fall trek to discover roads less traveled filled with pirates, hayrides, Halloween events and other spooky spectacles as the Long Beach Island region celebrates fall in a deliciously wicked way. The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce suggests several sure to please events, from family friendly to adult spirited activities.
Surflight Theatre presents performances of Zombie Prom happening at their Beach Haven theater October 12 and 13 at 730pm and October 13 and 14 at 2pm. Cost is $20 per adult and $12 for children. Produced by their Education Department, follow the story of a teenage romance spiraling out of control leaving a trail of nuclear waste. Call the box office or visit www.surflight.org . October 12 and 13 also brings the 20th Anniversary Haunted Hayride around Waretown Lake at 182 Wells Mills Road . Enjoy a 20 minute tractor pull hayride filled with haunts and surprises from 7-10pm. Cost in $10 adults, $8 children 12 & under. Take an express Ghost pass $25 to avoid lines.
Tuckerton Seaport Haunted Seaport- Haunted Seaport will take place on Thursday, October 18, Friday, October 19, and Saturday, October 20, and Sunday October 21 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm each night (last admission will be at 8pm or earlier depending on capacity) Pirates and Sea Captains long lost at sea will stroll the Seaport’s boardwalk for a night of screams. Climb aboard a hayride for through the Haunted Woods, be on the lookout for the Jersey Devil. Take part in the Creepy Clown Carnival atTucker’s Lighthouse. A non-scary Family Fun Activity Area with PUMPKIN SLIME, crafts, stories, games, and not so scary fall activities including make your own trick-or-treat bag, color a pumpkin, enjoy a hay bale maze, Halloween Dance Party, and games with treats Magic shows on the stage by Joe Holiday. General Admission is $10 for adults, $5 kids 5-12, kids under 5 and Seaport members receive free general admission. Hayrides of the Haunted Woods are $10 for everyone. Southern Ocean Rotary Operation Halloween at the Jersey Shore Boy Scouts Citta Reservation Brookville Road in Barnegat has been bringing on thrills year after year. Prepare for more than tricks or treats on October 26-27 4 to 10 pm. Free Admission to Pumpkin Street with safe trick or treating, free pumpkin painting, Magic Show and Hay Maze. $15 per person will get the adventurous onto the Jersey Devil Hayride and into the Zombie Outbreak from 7-10pm. [email protected] for more information. On October 27, Barnegat Township is hosting a fall festival by day at the Barnegat Recreation Center, 900 W. Bay Avenue from 11am – 3pm. Children’s Costume Contest will be held at 4pm. Registration is 1pm-3:45pm. Registions will take place in the Recreation Center. Beach Haven will be full of frights as the LBI Historical Society located at Engleside & Beach Avenues hosts its annual Ghost Fest from 1130 to 4pm which includes the LBI Museum Open House, Kids Ghost Maker Workshop and Raffle drawing by the Jersey Devil.
On Sunday, October 28, join The WooHoo for our 1st Annual Halloween Boo Bash to end our 2018 season! This is a kid friendly event and will have snacks, Halloween games, crafts, and more! There will be lots of Halloween flavors of ice cream and baked goods, and if you wear your costume you’ll get a free scoop of ice cream! Families can also head to Long Beach Township for a Harvest Hay Ride 1-3pm and then over to Surf City Fire House for a fantastic Trunk or Treat from 4-6pm. For those over 21 pick up Southern Ocean Made Surf and Sip Brew Trail maps and head over to local breweries and surf lifestyle businesses to help navigate your fall tour.
