Join the swashbuckling fun with a Pirate Re enactment Crew, Live Music and Vendor Fair as Pirate’s Day invades Historic Barnegat Saturday, September 7.

Barnegat Township officials and the business community promise a day loaded with fun  when the pirates sweep in on Saturday, Sept. 7 2019  and  turn the bayfront town into a swashbuckling capital of free, family festivity. Daylong entertainment two stages, pirate-themed kids’ games and a vendor and craft fair fill the tree-lined streets in the center of town. As always, Pirate’s Day is a free event to attend and enjoy.
A kids’-sized replica pirate’s ship is the backdrop on East Bay Avenue during the day of activities from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.  The historic shipbuilding town was in Revolutionary times the home of the “Patriot pirates” who raided British vessels to disrupt supply lines to British troops. Today it’s all in fun when a professional pirate re-enactment crew and performances on the Pirates Cove Stage featuring Pirates of Fortune’s Folly, Valhalla Pirates and Ye Pyrate Brotherhood.  Dress like a pirate or a pirate princess and perchance win a prize at a  judging on the Pirate’s Cove stage. Brush up on swashbuckler’s-speak like the swarthy Captain Black. The crew will roam among the townsfolk, then demonstrate daring duels.
Live bands will entertain on the festival’s Main Stage from 10am to 4pm, featuring Jersey Sure Cats, Madeline Smith and Strictly 60s.
Your crew can explore more than 180 craft, non profit and children’s booths or chow down with one of the delicious food vendors. In addition take part in the Children’s Entertainment Zone sponsored by Manahawkin Kia Jeep Ram Dodge featuring inflatable rides, trackless train, face painting and much more.
