Award Winning Podcast to begin its 12th Year on Air

Established days after Super Storm Sandy, the LBI Region Report is the voice of the business community

The LBI Region Report, sponsored by the Southern Ocean Chamber Association in conjunction with WBNJ FM is a valuable platform for businesses in and around the Long Beach Island region. The show received the NJ Governor’s Tourism Award for Excellence in 2013 after it proved to be a main resource for local businesses and nonprofits to announce their reopening or plans during recovery from the storm. It once again, proved a necessity as it aired each week during the pandemic announcing the latest updates for businesses and residents.   With thousands of listeners each week, the cohosts Lori Pepenella and Bill Eugene discuss upcoming community events, business updates and interview professionals that represent every industry, service or attraction in the coastal region.  Many guests and audience members share with the studio, located in Barnegat NJ, that listening to or being able to discuss their involvement within the community has helped raise awareness to all the coastal community holds.  It is also the first time many professionals or volunteers took part in an on-air interview.

It’s all about Local Exposure as the show airs on WBNJ 91.9FM every Monday at 9 am and 6 pm, reaching a broad local audience on radio, internet and downloadable podcasts available on streaming platforms. This provides businesses with an excellent opportunity to increase their visibility within the community.  The show has created great networking opportunities. Many guests on the show felt it allowed new avenues to connect with other local entrepreneurs, community leaders, and potential customers.  The LBI Region Report is defined by Community Engagement. The podcast covers a wide range of topics, including local events, business transformations, and community happenings.  By participating, businesses can demonstrate their commitment to the community and stay informed about local developments.  As the program began through a need to communicate when all other methods were not available, it has grown into a one-of-a-kind Marketing and Promotion tool.  Guests on the show can promote their products, services, and special events. This can help attract new customers and retain existing ones by keeping them informed about what the business has to offer.

The audience has stayed tuned for the many Expert Insights that the show often features in-depth conversations with local leaders, business owners, and managers. Listening to these episodes can provide value and inspiration for their own strategies. Many also feel it provides a deeper dive than getting information on social media and other platforms. Regularly tuning in helps both consumers and businesses stay updated on important regional news and trends which can be crucial for making informed decisions.
