Want to see our local towns or properties on the Big Screen? At our May 3 Tourism Week After Hours we had the privilege of finding out how!
The New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission has supported and nurtured this creatively vibrant and economically vital industry for over 45 years. The Commission’s knowledgeable and experienced staff assists filmmakers with all their needs — financial incentives, permits, regulations, production services, site selection and clearance. The Commission, part of the Business Action Center within the Department of State, attracts and supports production work and promotes infrastructure growth for the economic and image benefits the state derives.
The Commission is looking for a wide array of residential, commercial, municipal and state properties that might attract a producer’s attention – from warehouses to condos, neighborhood eating spots to historic landmarks, newly built homes to rustic farm houses – all properties are valuable in attracting productions to our region. Submitting a property via film.nj.gov is easy to do – and it’s free! Visit the “Location Photo Library” page online to get started. Property and business owners are invited to upload pictures of their property as a potential filming location.
Attention Small Businesses from Assistant Services, catering, film production, etc – consider applying for a listing on the NJ Motion Picture & TV Commission’s Production Services Directory. It is $15 fee, but gets you listed with on in the comprehensive guide to production related personnel, goods and services available in our state. Interested? Click here for application
