Hackensack Meridian Health is hosting a National Prescription Drug Take Back Day event on Sunday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A number of hospitals from the Network including Southern Ocean Medical Center (SOMC) in Manahawkin are participating. Residents can drop off unneeded or unused medications safely and responsibly at the SOMC Emergency Department lobby (next to the Ambulatory Pharmacy), encouraging the community to help prevent medication misuse. Prescription medication (including liquids and injections), over-the-counter medications, and vitamins and supplements will be accepted.
