2020 NJ Conference on Tourism Goes Virtual Dec 2 & 3

The state’s annual tourism conference will be held online December 2 & 3 this year due to COVID19 restrictions. The New Jersey Tourism Industry Association, the statewide organization that represents members that make up every aspect of New Jersey’s $38 Billion tourism sector, announces its distinguished and exciting line up for the annual New Jersey Conference on Tourism happening online Tuesday, December 2 and Wednesday, December 3. The organizers have packed in a series of sessions, speakers and networking opportunities that will give insight and understanding to move forward in 2021.

Keynote speakers include invited guests Governor of NJ Phil Murphy and the Honorable Tahesha Way, Secretary of State along with breakout sessions scheduled over the course of two days. The sessions will cover Tourism Economics, Self Help Tourism Industry Recovery, Working with Social Media Influencers, Bus Travel in a Mask, Seven Ways in Which Tourism Advertising has Changed Forever, The Future of Air Travel, Becoming Covid Certified to Make A Movie in Your Town, Strategies for building an inclusive Tourism Organization, Covid Best Practices 2020, Using your digital platform in a Crisis, as well as legislative updates.

NJTIA,  their Conference committee and Sponsors have  focused on the most up to date information on marketing, communications and surviving the COVID19 era. In addition to presentations there will also be a Virtual Exhibit Hall and Networking Reception with a gift. Understanding the challenges the tourism industry has experienced, the price of the 2020 Conference has been reduced to $50 per person.

The LBI Region will be represented as Southern Ocean County CEO, Lori Pepenella joins in a keynote session on Wednesday December 3 regarding COVID Best Practices. The session panel features Tom Consentino of the Garden State Wine Growers Association and Peggy Kelly Director of Hudson County Tourism Marketing. The panel discusses the unprecedented year and the few examples of destination marketing that was able to gain positive nationwide attention.
